“Seasoned NT Cop & New Aussie Charity Adopt Each Other After Catastrophic Accidents”
NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RELEASE DATE June , 2014
THE AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK BABY PROJECT INC
Well known and seasoned Northern Territory police officer, Senior Sergeant Garry Smith has taken an unprecedented move to personally adopt a new Australian charity to help ease the pain of all Territory police, fire, Red Cross Ambulance and emergency officers during traumatic events involving babies and children.
After a plea by Senior Sergeant Smith for all drivers to slow down after a catastrophic month on the roads of the Northern Territory; his pleas resulted in an email to Aussie charity The Australian Outback Baby Project Inc after reading a story in which 8 children had recently been hurt in NSW, and the charity had mentioned on Facebook that the children had all received their charity's trauma toys via NSW Ambulance. It was a huge comfort to all children and services involved.
The Australian Outback Baby Project Inc has been operating since October 4, 2012 and their duties include trauma toys for children which are donated to police, fire, ambulance, VRA and police rescue squads, Rural Fire Service and a homeless and battered women and children's refuge.
