It's not official until the official press release comes out but here is a message from a wonderful person to us on Facebook that reveals a little as to what is about to happen.
Our charity has just been adopted by a senior ranking police officer of the Northern Territory Police, fire and rescue, Ambulance and all of his colleagues.
We will be exclusively responsible for supplying all 3 services with thousands of trauma toys for the children and babies; hygiene bags for all 3 services; and later on food for children and babies in remote areas and missions who are starving to death. Plus clothes for the destitute kids and farmers; Christmas toys for remote missions etc.
Added to this our ongoing support to Careflight NT with care packs and full baby sets; baby sets into all of the NT hospitals and remote clinics.
We will have full backing by the Northern Territory Police Force, Fire & Emergency and they will be fundraising for us as well to pay for said items. They will also ask the Australian Military to transport all our boxes of goodies for us as well.
It also means that we will be continuing the work of St Mary McKillop in her protection, help, feeding of all remote children who are vulnerable and need our help in many ways.
Here is the message:
"Hello Ladies, Gents and Followers.
My name is Garry Smith and I am a Senior Sergeant in the Northern Territory Police. I have been with the force some 25 years and have worked in many sections, places and remote postings. I am one of the duty Watch Commanders on a rotating 24hour shift.
Quite often our remote Police attend terrible scenes in company of local health clinic staff. Police often do not have specialist support such as Fire and Rescue Services and all remote Police stations have rescue trailers they take to the scene of crashes etc.
I am very impressed with your charity and have many conversations with Maree. I am now on board and looking forward to being apart of your team. My initial intentions being to get "trauma toys" out to our Police stations to ease the pain of young ones and break down the barriers.
We need to work together in order to get the toys up here so I can get them out to our remote police members.
I thank you in earnest and look forward to having regular contact with you. Thanks and keep up the great work".
