- Teddy bears for NSW Northern Ambulance - FULFILLED
- 11 large preemies hats with matching booties - FULFILLED
- 19 newborn hats with matching booties - FULFILLED
- 375 organic soaps or this one
- Organza bags (round ones preferable)
We are currently in the throws of finishing off the 200 sets of Careflight NT orders and have started on Careflight NSW in the blue and yellow hats and booties.
We only require 25 newborns and 11 large preemies in hats and matching booties. Once the NT packs are completed we have 200 sets for Careflight NSW + a crew care pack of goodies to make up; 300 full baby sets for Goulburn Hospital; 5 sets + one large midwives care pack for Broken Hill Hospital and we still have 349 teddy bears to collect for NSW ambulance to try and complete asap. Unfortunately we had to cancel our Teddy Bear Party on October 12 because of many reasons. The Lions Club and Rotary were booked out and couldn't do the barbecue; we couldn't find a face painter; one of our volunteers had to work and we rang over 60 insurance agencies to try and get public and product liability insurance and all said they couldn't help. Considering other charities have it from the same companies we tried; something is definitely amiss some where! Probably incompetent staff more likely! To date we have found no soap donors so we will have to purchase it from our own pockets for 300 soap (about $80.00). We received 100 nappies donated so far to Boobums for us and if anyone wishes to purchase some more; you can get them for $3.60 off our website link to boobums. You don't have to pay postage at all and the business sends them on to us per every hundred donated. We have also decided to adopt a couple of koalas in January as a mascot for our charity in a way. I will be donating the $70 out of my own money to help two very ill koalas at the Koala Hospital at Port Macquarie to help save their lives. We donate tons of Australian animal soft toys in our packs to babies delivered in the hospitals as well as larger second hand Aussie soft toys to the women and children's refuge. It takes NOTHING away from helping our babies and children and their families and it gives us a wider interest from the business community. Our charity wants to be completely Australiana in feel from our website to our packs, to toys we use, the colours we use, our fundraisers etc. It doesn't mean we only want Aussies to help us......it just means we are branding our charity to look and feel Australian. Everyone from around the world is extremely welcome to volunteer with us! Hey everyone!
We have stopped selling jelly babies now until we find a new supplier, possibly in NSW. We hereby cancel all letters of permission to fundraise except for Mr Spudley's shop in Cowra. The letter is for one month only for them to hold the Teddy Bear Party. No one else is permitted to collect money or do any collections of any sort for us apart from Cowra Freight, Boobums and Bountifulbubs. You need express written permission from me to do so if a letter of your intentions is outlined. Not every request is guaranteed to be passed. We are highly protective of this charity and are careful as to who we associate with for any reason. If you know of any business claiming to collect money for us, please contact me immediately so we can take it further. If you want to sell chocolates for us or do clothes collections for the refuge for us or anything pertaining to our charity then please email me with a letter of intent first so we can check it out. Last but not least, is there anyone who would like to join our committee? Don't have to live in Cowra as meetings are on Facebook. We need about 6 more people. (Maree)
FOR THE REFUGE:
Our Teddy Bear Party is on at Mr Spudleys in Macquarie Street, Cowra NSW on October 12, 2013 from 10am to 3pm.
We are still making some arrangements and hope to have a Lions Club BBQ on the day as well as loads of raffles, auctions and other goodies. You can drop by and donate a few teddy bears (new) on the day or donate money to our wishing well and join in on the fun! Alternatively you can donate money over $2 on our website to our bank account or Paypal account ( [email protected] ). We are trying to raise money for more teddy bears for NSW rural Ambulance as well as buy literally hundreds of organic soaps for our packs. Plus a nurses care pack...... I'm just working behind the scenes here to tie up all loose ends to get ready for our incorporation in a few weeks to months. All fundraising with the jelly babies and jelly beans will cease as I have new plans I aim to put into place. Our charity will be polished, a prime charity for anyone to be proud to support and all posters professionally done for future fundraising. We are looking at Rotary and the Lions Clubs to support us via fundraising as well as other clubs helping us sell official teddy bears for much needed funds. We will be aligning ourselves with wonderful and new professional Australian businesses and organizations and won't accept any less standard wise. We will support all the small Aussie businesses who help us by buying through them or promoting them; and we just use large businesses as an avenue for bulk items because they don't have the interest nor inclination to help us like small community minded businesses do. I make a total commitment to support the small Aussie businesses and promote a strong community spirit Australia wide. Charity begins at home, here in Australia! We will no longer be purchasing toys for children in other countries, although I deeply feel for them but there are large financially well off international charities who can do that. We have thousands upon thousands of babies and children in trauma in Australia who need us the most. We are The AUSTRALIAN Outback Baby Project (and rural NSW too ) |
