Last year, an incredibly hard working lady by the name of Maureen Clark contacted me from The Dandelion Support Network about donating near new and new baby clothes and accessories to our charity.
Entirely run by volunteers who process donated nursery equipment & children's clothes for distribution to families in need through support agencies.
They send us so many gorgeous clothes that we just can't send them all to one refuge that we look after. Many of the hand knitted baby clothes are brand new so we keep them for our packs as well as send them to a paramedic who distributes them to people in his small rural town to families who are truly battling to stay afloat. He weeds out those who gamble and drink their money away and gives them to families who deserve to be helped.
We have also given 4 very large boxes of clothes to LFE (Lambing Flat Enterprises) for their shop and two to the Salvation Army in Young NSW after getting permission to do so by DSN. Rural communities in Central West NSW go without so many things and our charity shops struggle to get enough merchandise to sell and use the money to help struggling families in our town.
Not only do we help the Dandelion Support Network distribute all the excess clothes for free (we get free freight to have them delivered to us) but we also help out many rural charities and families as well.
It builds up one very solid community with caring, sharing, love and compassion.
