As of now, I will be purchasing all goods for nurses care packages out of my own private money, as well as pay for the special tea-chest boxes and freight. It is easier this way than to rely on others to send such gifts for packs. The nurses deserve all the comfort and compassion we can give them and whether it be in the form of nappies so they don't have to stress out finding more; or a nice hot cup of Milo at night whilst sitting with a preemie baby and mother; biscuits with their coffee or chocolates to give them a quick boost of energy - they deserve it!
Once we have our registration through, I will be starting on fundraising which will include a shop online for our project merchandise to raise money for all our numerous costs. Write an Australian flavoured book, one for young children to teach them about what happens to a new baby sibling who dies; and one for adults. Plus other major fundraising ideas....
Until then, sets have been made up to send to a midwife in Urana NSW and it will also include a nurses care package. A large nurses care package for Broken Hill midwives (7) will also be sent out via a freight company.
People keep emailing to ask what we need to donate it to our baby packs. Unfortunately we are no longer allowed to ask for any donations until registration comes through. If you would like to make whatever you feel comfortable with and hold onto it until registration is passed; we can then inform everyone when and where to send it.
Thank you for understanding and we appreciate all your good will gestures and compassion towards our project.
